Conservation
Yannick Chastang a conservé / restauré des pièces appartenant aux musées et collections privées du monde entier. Sa liste de clients comprend (entre autres) le duc de Buccleuch et Queensberry, le duc de Devonshire, le duc de Wellington, le duc de Bedford, le duc de Northumberland et bien d’autres propriétaires de demeures aristocratiques du monde entier. En 2008, il a étudié et conservé un important coffre Boulle appartenant à la Lewis Walpole Library (Université de Yale) à Farmington, Connecticut. Le projet a été rendu possible grâce à un mécénat de la Fondation Getty. Depuis 2010, il conserve les meubles pour Chatsworth (le duc de Devonshire) ; il a restauré la paire de cabinets en pierres dures réalisées par Domenico Cucci en 1686 pour Louis XIV à Versailles (duc de Northumberland, château d’Alnwick) ; Il a aussi restauré le cabinet en laque de 3,5 mètres de haut par Dubois à Waddesdon Manor (National Trust, voir : www.waddesdon.org.uk/blog/conserving-the-dubois-desk ), et, plus récemment, un cabinet du XVIIe siècle au Fitzwilliam Museum, cabinet accepté en « lieu et place des droits de succession ».
Entre 2005 et 2019, Yannick Chastang a dirigé un atelier réunissant jusqu’à 6 restaurateurs, priorisant les projets de conservation / restauration pour les musées, les collections aristocratiques et les collectionneurs privés. En 2020, suite au retrait du Royaume-Uni de l’UE, Yannick Chastang a décidé de travailler seul. Il peut désormais offrir un service très personnalisé.
Yannick Chastang est toujours passionné par la conception et fabrication de meubles en marqueterie et il continue de fabriquer des meubles ainsi que des marqueteries uniques. Veuillez suivre le lien www.marquetrycentre.com pour plus de détails.
